Alli Orton, MA LMFT
My passion as a marriage and family therapist lies in supporting my clients on their journey to improve their mental health and their relationships with themselves, their families and those around them. When working with children, adolescents and young adults, I believe strongly that therapy is their safe space to communicate with a professional about any topics they wish and allow them to do so at their own pace. I also believe when working with children and adolescents, communication as necessary with parents and guardians, school teachers, and primary care physicians is key in helping support child and adolescent mental health in all facets of their daily life. My client demographic includes individual children, individual adolescents and individual young adults, as well as families as a unit of all backgrounds through Telehealth therapy sessions. I strive to create an atmosphere that educates, empowers and supports my clients as they explore ways in which they would like to learn and grow through therapy.
I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Child Psychology the University of Minnesota. For several years following college I worked as a preschool teacher with high risk children in Minneapolis, which is were I found my passion to support children in their development by means of creating a cohesive, secure, healthy family unit. I received my Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota, and subsequently became independently licensed as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in both Minnesota and Wisconsin. I have worked in a variety of roles and programs across several different organizations including as a school based therapist, autism preschool day treatment and skills building clinician, individual and family therapist, as well as as a supervisor. I look forward to meeting you and your family in the future!
